An exciting opportunity for a Reservoir Engineer or Geologist to join one of the leading Oil and Gas Operators.  The successful candidate will need to come from a Project Management background with extensive experience within the Geoscience or Reservoir Engineering field.  You will be working within a Business Analyst role and will be required to carry out the following responsibilities:

Translate business needs/strategies into IT requirements and source IT services to meet requirements (current and future)

Understand business processes end-to-end, actively measuring business contribution of enabling systems, and initiate improvement to the process and/or systems

Work with Service Managers to ensure services meet business needs

Provide projected demand for services to the Service Managers

Understand and communicate to the business both the costs and value of services provided

Owner of software lifecycle management process for their customer group(s) (nomination, investigation, approval, acquisition, installation, operations and disposition of software) to ensure optimal business application portfolio

Expert reservoir and petroleum engineering knowledge to optimise sand control solutions

Analyse and assess reservoir, well, completions and fluids to select best methods to meet Clients needs

Research and development for new specialist technologies

Carry out Root Cause Analysis investigations when required

Interface with other departments and customers to maintain professional relationships and reputation

Our client is looking for someone that can provide specialist and non routine reservoir and petroleum engineering technical support to internal and external customers.  The position will be based in Aberdeen at regional level working with sand control teams but with input into the global business unit. 

Successful candidates will have the following:

• BSc in Petroleum/Mechanical Engineering or Physics
• Knowledge of engineering principles for oil and gas production
• Knowledge of oil and gas reserve estimation and economic evaluation
• Experience with Petroleum and Reservoir Engineering Software
• Proven ability with wellbore stability modelling
• Experience in managing project teams
• Experience and ability to use Well and Reservoir Analysis software
